Last week the WAV Group partners, Mike Audet, Marilyn Wilson and Victor Lund had the opportunity to speak at the Luxury Real Estate Conference at the Hotel du Louvre, in Paris, France. LuxuryRealEstate.com brokers from around the world came together to learn and share their experiences on serving the international markets. Topics ranged from strategies on international marketing, branding and web strategy to how to value and sell your real estate company. All of the participants rated the conference a huge success both in content and, of course, locale! One of the LRE attendees, Olivia Hsu Decker, owner of Deker Bullock Southeby’s International Real Estate in San Francisco, is also the owner of the beautiful Chatteau Villette. Dan Brown’s best selling book “The Da Vinci Code” prominently featured Chateau de Villette as the residence of the central character, Sir Leigh Teabing (chapter 52 on and off to chapter 90). Olivia hosted the attendees of the LRE Conference to a beatiful gourmet lunch and tour of the Chateau to wrap up the conference that made a memorable conference even more special!

Consumers today are demanding more and more transparency in every purchase they make. As a real estate professional you have a great chance to attract new clients simply by sharing all of the great relationships you have with your clients. You didn’t build that referral network you have without creating satisfied clients. Why not take advantage of all of the hard work you have done to earn the great reputation you have? Feedback websites have become popular because they allow a consumer to get information from peers about their satisfaction levels with products and services. Unlike traditional advertising that has fallen out of favor with many consumers, websites that provide objective, honest, positive and importantly, negative feedback are ever growing in popularity. WAV Group has just published a paper called “Your Reputation, Your Secret Weapon for Securing New Clients.” This paper will show real estate agents how they can take advantage of this consumer trend to grow their business. It will help agents understand why consumers want more information about the reputations of real estate agents online. It will also show how fellow REALTORS® have capitalized on this strong consumer need to grow their business.
STROKE:Remember the 1st Three Letters….S.T.R. My nurse friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks. Seriously.. Please read: STROKE IDENTIFICATION: During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall – she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening Ingrid’s husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital – (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don’t die. they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this… A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough. RECOGNIZING A STROKE Thank God for the sense to remember the ‘3′ steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions: S *Ask the individual to SMILE. T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today) R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher. New Sign of a Stroke ——– Stick out Your Tongue NOTE: Another ’sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the person to ’stick’ out his tongue.. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke. A cardiologist says if everyone who […]
I was doing research for the release of an upcoming white paper on consumer property search. After going through rounds of debates about which reporting source is most accurate in representing consumer traffic, I concluded that none of them are very accurate, but all relatively symbolic of accurate traffic. Hence, I like to use Compete.com for my research because they dynamically build the graphs. What to my surprise did I see this morning? Nothing short of shock to learn that realestate.yahoo.com has passed realtor.com in search engine traffic according to Compete.com. I have no idea why realtor.com has tanked in traffic – perhaps it is an error. But nevertheless, here are the results – debate them as you may. The report also shows that zillow is a nose in front of trulia, and cyberhomes is on the rise. If you are looking at your online advertising plan, or listing syndication plan, this data is an important indicator of where consumer traffic is focused. Looking at the total number of visitors as a ratio of to transactions in the US, it is obvious that consumers are visiting multiple third party websites in addition to local agent and broker sites to research property information.
Historically I have been somewhat descriminating about where I announce blog posts at http://waves.wavgroup.com At times, I would twitter the post, at other times, I would also post a link to my facebook friends. For some reason, I always neglect linkedin and plaxo. Those four combine to create the ecosystem of my online social life. I have some other social networks that I have registered for research purposes, like myspace, brightkite, loopt, hi5 and probably some more that I have forgotten about. What I found was that the effort to publish a link for each blog post on so many sites has been heavy lifting. Today I noticed that I could put my ping.fm key into my blog administration profile which allows me to publish links to blog posts on all of my social netowrks automatically. Today will be my first time doing this. I wrote this post as much for testing reasons as to share the effectiveness of the service to my blogging friends
