Three Untapped MLS Growth Opportunities?

To improve a business, it is common to focus on customer expansion, or delivering a wider array of services that your customers will pay for. For the last three years, Multiple Listing Service has been focused on consolidation (more customers) as a way of improving the MLS. Before that, the focus was on non-dues revenue. Three untapped areas for growth where most MLSs have not been successful are rentals, new home marketing, and commercial real estate. These are enormous categories in the real estate industry that have been asymmetrical because of the MLS core basis of cooperation and offer of compensation.

Make 2019 the Year You Really Pay Attention to Your Customers

There isn’t a company in real estate that does not believe that it pays attention to the needs of its customers.  We all want to think that every one of our customers would give us a 5-star rating, but we know deep down inside that is not the case. Because we interact with our customers every day, we do have some sense of what they are looking for. Here’s the problem though…. We don’t TALK to every one of our customers regularly – the silent majority are out there forming opinions without ever talking to their MLS, Association or brokerage directly.
