Stan Martin Promoted to MLS Director in Austin

We’re very excited to see the news that Stan Martin has been promoted to MLS Director for the Austin Board of REALTORS®! We have had the pleasure and honor of working with Stan on several projects. He has an impressive depth of understanding of where MLSs need to go and the best ways to serve ABOR members’ technology needs. He is extremely customer-centric and always looking for ways to better serve the needs of brokers of all sizes.  He is focused on continuing to improve ABOR’s MLS services for ALL members – he has worked diligently to improve the organization’s services for appraisers, property managers and affiliates in addition to agents and brokers. He will now oversee the progressive ABOR technology programs including the company’s RESO Reference Server designed to encourage developers to create innovative technologies built with RESO certified data among others. Here’s the full press release:   Austin Board of REALTORS® Promotes Stan Martin to MLS Director Martin to support 13,000-subscriber Multiple Listing Service in Central Texas AUSTIN, Texas – Oct. 24, 2017 – The Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR), one of the nation’s most progressive Multiple Listing Services (MLSs), announced today that Stan Martin has been promoted to Director of MLS. Effective immediately, Stan will assume the responsibility for leading efforts to continue to drive strategic relevance and operational excellence of the MLS for ABoR in partnership with its Board of Directors. An experienced MLS executive, Martin provides a strong combination of product management and operational expertise to ABoR, building on trusted relationships gained with both ABoR members and industry leaders, while also contributing to significant growth for the Association. Brandy Guthrie, President of the Austin Board of REALTORS®, says, “Stan has a depth of understanding about what Central Texas REALTORS® need from the technology of the MLS. He knows how to deliver timely and superior service to our participants and subscribers. AUSTIN, Texas – Aug. 3, 2015 – Today, the Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) announced the appointment of Tim Dain as Multiple Listing Service Director. A seasoned MLS executive, Dain brings a unique combination of experience to ABoR, including leading a regional MLS, where he oversaw significant growth for the MLS; working as a REALTOR®, both as an agent and a broker; working in information technology outside the REALTOR® organization; and serving four years in the U.S. military. ABoR CEO Paul Hilgers commented on the announcement, “Tim’s extensive experience in evolving MLS organizations and his industry acumen will be central to helping ABoR deliver even more value to its MLS members. We’re preparing for future growth and I’m fully confident Tim will help take our MLS to the next level.” ABoR retained executive search firm WAV Group, Inc., to assist in finding a new MLS Director. Dain will assume that role on Sept. 8, reporting to CEO Paul Hilgers and working with ABoR’s Board of Directors and committees dedicated to MLS services. Barb Cooper, 2015 ABoR President, said, “We recognize that being aggressive in technology innovation is the best way to serve our members and homeowners in the Austin area. With Tim’s well-rounded experience and track record for successful innovation, we believe he will help us continue to be a leader in MLS services. Prior to accepting this role, Dain was Executive Director of the Southern Illinois Regional MLS. He began work there as Technology Director and was promoted to CEO in less than two years. During his five-year tenure with the organization, Dain was responsible for creating a virtual MLS and helped achieve cost reduction of more than 30 percent while streamlining processes to enhance daily operations and strengthen relationships with participants. He also partnered with the Illinois Association of REALTORS® local government affairs director in utilizing MLS data to enhance political advocacy efforts. Dain is also active in the MLS industry generally, currently serving a member of the executive advisory team for Move, Inc., Dotloop and the interim executive committee for the Broker Public Portal. He has also served on the board of directors for the Council of MLS and as the chairperson for Corelogic Advisory Group. The Austin Board of REALTORS® is seeking an MLS Director to lead its 11,000 member Multiple Listing Service, ACTRIS. The company is looking for a progressive Leader and Manager adept at creating positive change for MLS systems and services to help increase the value and relevance of their MLS operation. The ideal candidate is someone who thinks creatively about ways to make the MLS more relevant and profitable. The Director of MLS will have a proven ability to drive an organization to be more customer-centric while finding creative and affordable ways to take the MLS to the next level; positioning the organization for the future. Position Summary:  Successfully direct the operation and delivery of all Multiple Listing Services to meet and exceed the expectations of members of the Austin Board of REALTORS® and ACTRIS by performing the following duties and responsibilities: Plan and direct all policies for addressing customer satisfaction for all services and products delivered Work closely with other internal and external groups on resolving product escalations. Work closely with marketing and the field on service offerings. Builds the organization and processes capable of delivering services including procurement, product testing, evaluation, contract negotiation, product selection and implementation. Plans and directs development of policies and procedures. Plans and directs the strategy to comply with regulatory requirements and relevant industry trends. Ensures contract compliance. Establishes goals for all functions and implements strategies to meet the goals. Relies on and applies extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads, coaches and directs the work of others. Responsible for budgetary management and continually looking for cost-effective methods to improve the quality of the services provided at an affordable price.  Other duties as assigned Experience with regional MLS’s is helpful as we are looking to enhance partnerships with surrounding Associations and MLSs.
